We've been busy doing all the planning that you have to do a year in advance of your anticipated wedding date. We're thinking about setting a date in October of 2006, and it's a good thing that we are planning this far ahead, because it looks like most places want at least a year's notice for booking.

I had no idea, but apparently October is now the biggest month for weddings. We have learned all sorts of things since we started planning. For example: the selection of indoor, non-church locations in which to have both ceremony and reception is limited to some pretty pricey historic homes, hotels and museums.

We've checked-out several so-far, and have appointments to see a couple more. The Clifton Center is very nice, and we would both be happy if that ends-up being the location. It is also a little bit expensive, but includes the theater, reception hall, kitchen, tables and chairs. When you take all of those into account, it doesn't look too bad.

We should have a definite date soon. When we settle on a location, we'll obviously have to tell them the date. At this point, we're thinking about the 28th of October, but like I said, nothing is definite yet.
