Eating healthy while being on the road is tough. We brought with us some food for breakfast and snacks, but the bulk of our diet was not of the healthy variety. So I have some making up to do this week.

Crazy week. We went out of town, and couldn't get to the gym nearly enough. I intend to clamp down and kick some ass this week. I want to lose the 2 I gained and 2 more.

Week 16

I'm down 2 pounds this week so I lost the pound I gained the week before plus one. I'm happy with that considering that on Friday morning I weighed 5 pounds more than I did the previous morning. I was bummed to say the least, but I chalked it up to all the sodium I had ingested on Thursday and decided to just drink lots of water and not worry about it too much. Those 5 pounds slowly went away and on Monday I had actually lost weight.

We are still eating low calorie/low fat food for the most part and watching our portion sizes. We keep track of everything we eat and when we have something that might not be the healthiest option, we write it down and move on. For me, it is important to not beat myself up over 1 cookie or slice of cheesecake (mmm, cheesecake!). I just recognize that it wasn't the best choice and get right back on track. I am focused and determined to achieve my weight loss goal.

It wasn't until I checked the blog here that I realized 250 was actually a net loss for the week. I was a couple pounds below that at some point, but crept back up after not going to the gym this weekend. Losing one was a nice surprise after thinking I had gained for the first week since starting the diet.

That number is after going to the gym today. I didn't weigh in after I woke up, so I will go with this number for the week. It is likely that the number was unchanged before going to the gym, but I'll take the 2. That just means that I have to work extra hard this week to keep losing.

Weigh-in tomorrow morning. I'm not feeling good about it. I just got back from an extra hard workout at the gym, but I ate WAY too much at a party yesterday, and I fear I may have gained a little. We shall see. Hopefully it is just a little pre-weigh-in anxiety.

Official Week 14 Results

Seventy Pounds. I never in a million years thought the diet would work this well this fast. As Medina said, it feels good to know that I am now capable of making good decisions about food. That was absolutely not the case before the diet. I feel very strongly that I have changed forever. I now know that I can make the right decisions and see results. That is a good feeling.
Week 14: -2 lbs. That's -40 lbs. overall! The choices I have made so far haven't caused me to gain so I feel pretty good about that. In the spirit of the new year, my dad expressed interest in getting on the weight loss bandwagon with me and Jackson. I explained, in detail, the plan we are on and I am hopeful that he will be successful.

Week 13 was great! I ate. alot. and i still lost 3 pounds. Total weight lost to date: 38 pounds. Hooray! I'm starting off 2008 with some momentum built up. My overall goal this year is to lose 60ish more pounds. I would like to lose 5 pounds this month and I plan to achieve that by continuing to eat better (and not so much) and going to the gym at least 4 times a week. Here's to 2008 being an exciting year.
